The first episode of Digital Confetti is finally here, and I'm so excited to share with all of you my favorite ways to repurpose content.

As a digital creator, repurposing content is crucial to engage with your audience, grow your brand, and expand your digital footprint.

When you finish a live stream, do you put your content away on a shelf? Well, if you do, you shouldn't!

I want you to think about your content like a piñata.

After you finish recording a video, take that content and put it into a piñata. Then, smash the piñata into little pieces.

Now, instead of having just one video, you have so much "digital confetti" to sprinkle across the internet. All of that confetti leads back to you, your show, or your website.

Your new confetti is perfect for any platform: Facebook, Instagram stories, LinkedIn stories, Twitter fleets, and more.

By sharing repurposed content, you can increase your viewership, grow your email list, or do whatever you want to do to keep your show top of mind and tip of tongue.

Do you repurpose your content all by yourself?

Maybe you know you should, but it takes up too much of your time. Or, you just don't know how. If you're stuck on how to create new content from only one video, don't worry.

Descript is one of my new favorite tools to use (and I use it ALL the time) to enhance my content and repurpose videos.

The best part about Descript is that it has everything you need!

When I first started creating videos and live streams, I used many different tools and programs. After I finished recording a video, I would upload it to Otter.ai for the transcriptions. Then, I'd upload it to Headliner to create an audiogram.

It was exhausting. But with Descript, there's no more jumping around. I have everything I need on just one platform. And really, the possibilities with Descript are endless.

Whether you're a live streamer, a podcaster, or any type of content creator, Descript has features to help you repurpose your content into new, exciting pieces of digital confetti.

How can you use Descript to elevate your video content?

I use Descript is to transcribe my audio files and videos. All you have to do is drag and drop your file into the program, and it automatically transcribes it.

After that, it's easy to share your file with anyone on your team, send a preview to a client, or post it immediately to your socials.

The biggest game-changer for me is removing filler words. We're all guilty of using errs, ums, and ahs (even me), but I definitely don't want those in my transcripts. With Descript, I can remove them in just one click.

Not only does the program remove the filler word from the transcript, but it automatically removes it from the video as well.

How cool is that?

Another useful feature is the ability to capture a screen recording. If you speak at virtual summits or create online courses, this one is a must!

Other Descript features include creating subtitles and audiograms.

Subtitles are an excellent way to make sure your content is accessible to everyone. Members of your audience may be hard of hearing or unable to watch your video with sound. With subtitles, they can read along as you speak.

For the audiogram feature, Descript takes the text and creates a singalong karaoke clip for the words you want highlighted. Not only that, but you can change the color, logo, and speaker labels.

If you're a podcaster, you can even use Descript to layer your intros, outros, sponsors, shout outs, and more. And if you want to remove a part of your video? You can do that, too.

There's even the ability to type new text and have the program overdub the sound onto your video. It's perfect for when you forget to say something in your live stream, say the wrong word, or even if you're sick when recording.

Overall, Descript is one of my favorite programs because there are so many different ways to utilize the features to repurpose your content.

Descript is a game-changer when you need to create or edit your content.

Whether you repurpose your content by yourself or have a team to help you out, or if you're looking for a new program to use for your clients, Descript has what you need.

This software is fantastic!

The best part is that Descript offers a free plan, which is perfect if you want to test it out. So go and take a look at their website and discover all of the amazing features Descript has to offer.
